Introduction

One of the activities supporting planned parenthood.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), commonly known as Planned Parenthood, is a nonprofit organization that provides reproductive and sexual healthcare, as well as sexual education, both in the United States and globally. It traces its origins back to Margaret Sanger’s birth control clinic in Brooklyn, New York, established in 1916. The organization operates through 159 affiliates, with over 600 health clinics in the United States and partnerships in 12 countries worldwide. Planned Parenthood offers a range of reproductive health services, conducts research in reproductive technology, and advocates for reproductive rights. It is the largest provider of reproductive health services and abortion in the United States.

Conservative Perspective

The conservative perspective on Planned Parenthood largely depends on how/if they are pro-life. Pro-life conservatives (remembering that responses to this topic exist on a spectrum) are highly critical of it, due to their stance that abortion is morally wrong. Pro-choice leaning conservatives have generally more positive opinions on Planned Parenthood.
